Hello and welcome
I’m best known for writing the acclaimed Blood and Bandages – fighting for life in the RAMC Field Ambulance 1940-1946 with the late William Earl, and What Makes Us Human with Alison Lapper MBE.
My passion is for WW2 history, particularly the South-East Asian theatre but I also write on subjects as diverse as jungle schools in Myanmar and female domestic workers (helpers) in Singapore.
I am currently working on my next book which is on Changi Prisoner of War Camp (1942-45) and I am a regular contributor to Asia Media Center.
Apart from writing, I’m an experienced museum guide, regular speaker, creative writing faciliator and keen out-rigger. I am a member of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists, the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain, the Society of Authors and the Law Society.
